First post, hi all!
So yeah, I'm 19, turning 20 in a few months. I have some pretty good (reasonable) growth on the chin and neck (a patch under the chin which seems common) and I've started ever so slowly to grow a mustache, but I cannot for the life of me grow any sideburns. I have some vellus growth in the burn area if I dont shave it for a couple of weeks, but very few hairs that appear to be going terminal - there are a couple, but nothing really visible/ identifiable as a sideburn - it seems as though any attempt at hair seems to stop around the level of the bottom of my ear.
I know my Dad can't grow strong burns even in middle age, but he won't grow them out to show me. Otherwise, he has a strong full goatee and from what I can tell, good cheek coverage and it would appear I'm following in his footsteps. I'm very light skinned and pretty fair haired, so I'm not expecting to have an epic beard or anything...
So I guess my question is, if I'm growing vellus in the burn area, is it likely that it will eventually go terminal? (I dont really mind waiting, it would just be nice to know) And is it common to only really develop a beard that doesn't really grow up to the hair line?
Images in case anyone wishes to see.
It grows stronger at the moment on my RHS, so as you can see, i shave it to look somewhat symmetrical, but you get the idea. I might as well try and wear what I do have...
