As you can I don't have much facial hair. I can live with that, but as you can see I have two bald spots. And the problem is they aren't even symmetrical. I would like to receive your advices. Maybe I can shave it in some kind of better shape or stimulate the spots to grow? Thanks for your time, And with friendly regards, Tony

Now about the weak spots, you have a couple of options. The idea of "stimulating" growth is probably not feasible nor advisable at this point using Rogaine or any other method, but that's up to you to try. As for what I'd suggest some options: 1. Try growing it for awhile longer, perhaps 1-2 months. Some slower growers may appear and it won't seem like a big bald patch anymore. 2. Carve your cheekline lower, like a chinstrap, so that the weaker areas are not so pronounced. 3. Shave the weak spots and sport big sideburns and a goatee for a year or so. Perhaps after that those areas will have filled in sufficiently. Patience shall be rewarded! New beard growers: Check out the Rules of Beard Acquisition. If I choose to not carve a chinstrap, can I perhaps just carve the cheekline a bit lower or will it not be looking good? And do you have any tips shaving the bald spots without accidently shaving normal hair? Also my mustache and goatee do not really form a unity, is it an advice to keep on shaving where you want some hair to grow? Cheers.

I just said chinstrap to give you an idea what I meant. You can start with a little at a time until you find the cheekline that looks best. As for shaving the bald spot, just make it look purposeful. Shave the same width on both sides of your goatee and square off the sideburns. It doesn't matter if you cut a few good hairs...they'll grow back As for the connectors between the goatee and 'stache, don't worry about it. Most guys your age don't have solid connectors. Just make it look even on both sides..in other words, shave from the bottom of the 'stache to the same spot on the goatee for now. Since you probably already shaved this area in your pics, I don't know if you have enough at this point to try and let them grow in. I'd suggest for now you don't shave that spot for a couple of months...perhaps you'll have enough to connect...if not, you can shave later. And remember that shaving will NOT make anything grow faster or thicker. I only suggest it to make things look even. Patience shall be rewarded! I think your sideburns/mutton chops are too awesome to edge down to a chin strap but the chinstrap is one of your options for shaping your facial hair to lessen the effect of the typical bare areas between goatee and sideburns on the side. Shaving will not improve the growth of your stache or goatee. A connected moustache and goatee is not necessary for a nice beard as in your case. Added length improves much, bald patches can be covered easily, just take a look at my thread! Of course, slower growing hairs can pop up, too. If you can, why not grow it longer? I for myself am glad that I did it, because I never thought that I could pull of something of a full beard, although there's still a long way to go

If you want to see an example of what time can do to fill spots in just check out my profile. If it had been given a little more time the hair above the cheek probably would have covered those spots in fully, but I will have to wait until it is at the point again to find out. You look like you actually have better growth than I do in thickness, and probably in speed too, so i would recommend just letting it grow for about 3-4 months and see what you think of how it is fillling in. Growing since '07 Join Team I-just-shave-my-neckline-because-I-like-to-feel-the-itch-and-it-gives-me-something-to-scratch-while-I-deep-thoughfully-rub-my-goatee today!
