I just can't seem to get my tiny mind around the fact that if you apply it to the chin area, surely it wouldn't just run downward right off it? I'm imagining it being just like water, or is it 'thicker'?

It is about the consistency of water, but it kind of clings to the face, one you rub it in it shouldn't run any further.

What is the deal with sun exposure and this stuff? Just go about business as normal? Sunscreen application etc..... I just started 'using' lol, no
redness, its the 2% stuff. WIll report as we go along. Its an hour for facial absorption correct?

I'm hardly even in the sun, so i'm not sure, I heard reports that you can actually get sunburn easier where the minox is on your skin. I also read in
this informative thread that approximately 70% of the minox is absorbed in 1 hour, full absorption should take place in 4 hours, I personally don't apply
any moisturizer or wash my face until 4 hours after application.

Before Pics | ||

Here's my before pics. Technically these were taken 2 weeks into the experiment (hence the dry skin) but this was before any results, so these are
completely representative of my facial hair before use. I've been noticing more and more little hairs coming in, and a lot of them already appear to be
slightly dark. I'm super stoked!

Good pics DSharky, I'd be very interested to see how that progresses... your beard hairs have the same thickness and darkness as mine, I just have more
coverage around the beard area, though its patchy.
On a side note, I have to say I have not quite been feeling myself after the one application I have used today... a little light headed maybe, I don't know. I used just under one mL, though it was applied to a very small area on the chin where I have a sparse patch. I'm probably just being paranoid, I always am about physical things. If it does continue in this vein(its only slight), I may stop usage. I want to give it at least two weeks. |

Hope it goes well for you. Today when I used minox on my face I seen a little redness but nothing to noticeable. I havent had dry skin yet but it seems to take
a bit to dry tho. Emu oil from what I heard is good to use for your dry skin.
Not to many flakes. I will post pics up soon. |

Thanks guys! I usually just trim rather than shave all the way to the skin, so it's easier to spot the fine little hairs that are coming in. As I said I am
already excited by what is starting to grow and I will post the next set of pictures as soon as i have results that can be seen by the camera lens.

Hey guys, I started reading this thread a week ago. I started this experiment 5 days ago and haven't noticed anything major yet but I will update this
experiment every week. I am an 18 year old whom is still growing.

Hey guys! this is my very first port here and after reading all this good (...and some bad) stuff on here I'd like to give this a try! I just got my first
package although it is not Rogaine it is another brand that is still 5%. Can't wait to see my results and very interested in finding out how this will
actually work for me.
I can grow a beard, but very patchy and it's kind of embarrassing. So I just want to thicken it up a bit but have now idea how this works, I mean do I need gloves or anything to rub it in? And also how long will it need to stay on my face before washing it out? Thanks for the info and will most def. update you on my progress as this will be the first application tonight! Thanks again and "Let the Minoxidil force be with me!"

hi guys this is my 11 month update.
very very slow growth noticed in nearly all areas that already had growth. goatee area has improved VERY slightly. so one side has climbed up a little bit. it looks like this is going to be a 2 year journey for me, not the 1 year journey i hoped for. but my coverage has improved significantly. just almost a year ago, i could grow *nothing*. not even sideburns. so if it takes 2 years of putting this stuff on my face, then so be it! i just need to fill up my cheeks, get the connectors, and fill up a tiny part of the goatee and i can claim full beard coverage. i'm hoping that another 6 months/1 year of putting this stuff on my face will get me there. i'm so close yet so far! |

Hi everyone, I'm a 19 year old male and I plan on starting this experiment tomorrow since it's late right to get any miloxidil...I'm going to get
some 5% tomorrow and begin the experiment with 1 week updates, so I hope I have real good patience! I just have some patchy areas in my cheeks that I want to
fill in, so we'll see what happens
The good thing is I don't mind body hair growth at all , as long as my back doesn't turn into a gorilla lol. Alright I'll keep everyone posted |

Hey guys, i've been thinking about the life cycle of facial hair. I remember following a link in one of these posts, and it said the life-cycle was
something like 2 to 4 years or so. I'm not sure if I understand what that means exactly, because I know there are guys that go 20 years without shaving and
their beards continue to grow. I guess i'm worried about losing new growth after stopping minox. It would suck if I lost new growth in a couple months
after stopping, but it would be almost as bad if I lost it a year or 2 later when I wasn't expecting it. I know we're still in the early stages of this
experiment as a whole, but any light you guys could shed on this would be most appreciated.

It is normal for a person to lose some hair all the time. Each hair has a different life cycle. It would be unsual to losee all facial hair at the same time.

hello,
although i had already written one reply, i'll try another one...perhaps somebody has an idea or can comment on it. i (22 years, dark brown hair, germany) started to use minoxidil in february 2007 (2 times 1ml 5% per day) - the progress was immense. i hadn't had much beard before, but thanks to minoxidil i gained a lot of new hairs. the only side-effect was dry skin. i stopped the experiment in december 2007. since then, some hairs which i had gained before, are not growing any longer. you can see the stubble (the small holes) of all the follicles (after razing), but a huge amount of the gained follicles don't grow any longer. and i recognized a second thing: some (about 15-20, but there are more and more) follicles of the hair of the scalp started to get gray, beginning about 1-2 weeks after stopping minoxidil treatment. alltogether, the hair of the scalp also became thinner. i've got two questions now, perhaps anybody has an idea! 1.) Could using minoxidil/stopping treatment have an effect on the hair of the scalp? could there be a relation between getting these gray hair (i'm only 22 years old) and minoxidil? i also had a lot of stress, perhaps this is the real cause. 2.) Did the majority of minoxidil users keep the new beart growth or did they loose it? i'm now thinking about starting to use minoxidil again. thanks for your responses! |

Just applied my 3rd treatment (night), and no side affects as yet except for a little bit of ichyness that irratates slightly after putting it on.
