No Shave November - Should I Stick With It? |
Lead | |
|
I'm 18 and decided to participate in No Shave November for the first time this year, but only want to stick with it all month if I'm likely to be able
to grow something half-decent (in other words, something other than disgusting, patchy tufts of fur on my face; otherwise it's not worth all the
itchiness). This is my progress after 8 days of growth. Do you think it has potential for a full beard, goatee, or some sort of decent facial hair besides
sideburns (I've already done sideburns; they work well)? Thanks.

Welcome to the board DaCheez, you have potential for a nice chinstrap or sideburns with goatee.

chinstrap with a mustache is probs the best bet! but why not grow a full beard out for a month , then you can always shave the weakest parts and keep your
strongest!

Exactly... after a month you should see some definite fullness in some areas, some additional areas that need just a little more time, and yet some other areas
that aren't ready to produce the kind of coverage that you want and you'd likely end up shaving those.

There's definitely some potential for a nice goatee, as for the stache and sideburns, they look a little weak. If I was you, I'd trim everything
besides your goatee, unless you want to grow everything out for No Shave November. You have good growth on your whole face in general for 18 though, more than
me... you might be able to pull off a nice chinstrap like these other guys suggested. Good luck!

Keep it going dude!!! Looks like my pattern, just advanced a year or so. Much better goatee though. So... yeah, go for it! I would guarantee you a nice
chinstrap by the end of the month, at least.
I may look like a goat, but I am one devilishly handsome goat. |

In my opinion you should definately keep growing for the whole of No Shave November, don't touch a thing until the end of the month at least. I doubt that
you have the makings of a full beard just yet, but you have more than enough for a chin strap and stache. Just stay away from the razor for a few more weeks,
then see what you think.

End of the Month | ||

Well, it's the last day of No Shave November. I haven't shaved since October 31, and I must say that I'm surprised I was able to grow as much as I
did. I think I'll let it go for another few weeks just to see if the patchier spots will fill in, though I am probably going to trim it at the neck a bit
tomorrow morning.

Great you got a full beard on your way!

I do believe if you keep it for another month it would look great.

Definately full beard potential there if you want that style. Well worth growing out further to see how it matures. If you do decide to trim a neck line, just
be careful, you really don't need to trim off very much. I'd suggest just abouv the adam's apple, no higher than that for now. Congrats on a nice
beard.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I didn't trim much, just a little above the adam's apple like you suggested.
