Tsuka's Beard Progress - November Update |
Lead | |
|
Seven days in to "naturalizing" my beard. I had 2 weeks on my cheeks and a 5 week goatee (if I'm getting my numbers right) as of last week and
hand been maintaining a cheek and neck trimming. Here's what I look like seven days later. More pics in the photo bucket.

The white hairs along your jaw and neckline are going to give the beard a LOT of character once it bushes out a few months down the road. Keep it up!

Tsuka,
You're off to a great start in naturalizing your beard. Had a look through your latest pics on photobucket. Judging from your current beard and the added growth as it "naturalizes" you are going to have a really full natural beard. I also really like the touch of gray you have - very distinguished.

So here's the narrative for this update. Im officially starting to get some comments like - when are you going to trim that stuff on your cheeks -
isn't that getting a little too big, you've got food in it, how do you eat through your mustache. Dealing with all that. I generally laugh it off and
say ehhh I don't think Im going to trim anything for a while... polietley brush out the crumbs... use a lil wax every now and then to groom the mustache...
and go on with life...
I do kind of dig seeing the beard connect with the back of my neck but I'm not sure I can handle that long term - we will see... I'm actually going to give it a chance. Maybe once it builds out that will look ok... right now it looks like part of a transformation sequence from a were wolf film... hehe and I don't think that's too bad either. I went out clothes shopping to dress better for work - keep my wardrobe as clean cut and professional as possible to hopefully avoid any "you have to trim that" comments for the next four days. After that I'm out of town for 9 wonderful days on an island!!! I'll come back with over a week of new fur to help fill in and hopefully establish my full natural beardedness. We'll see!! |

Does wax help to lay subborn hairs that stick out? i got some hairs that do that so was just curious

In my case - not so much. If a hair decides it's going renegade there seems to be no stopping it. Lol. But MOST hairs are tameable with wax although wax is
not really for all over styling - least I wouldn't think so. Check some other opinions I hear good things about the got2b hair glue and it sounds like it
would tame ANYTHING, however I think it like turns your hair to stone or some such madness... it's the devils hair product I tell you.

Tsuka,
I can definitely see everything naturalizing more. It's great you have the attitude to "wait and see" as your beard is in a transition state like you said. It's funny how people comment on any change to one's appearance. Do you think the comments you have been getting are a reaction to the transition state or the beard itself getting bigger (or both)? Any positive comments? Have a great time on your vacation too.

I should have definitely touched on the positive comments! Thanks for reminding me! I've got a lot of friends that are like WHOA that's how many weeks?
you aren't going to shave that off are you, cause it's awesome. Some other friends recently told me at a dinner that I looked like I was going to
become a viking and they thought that was worth some free beers and a few expletives! Hehheh. I'm really enjoying that. At work I'm wearing collard
shirts to disguise the transitional phase of my neck. Hopefully It'll just all be one big beard when I get back from the beach.

Tsuka, you look like you just walked off the set of an old Western. That's a good thing though. You just need a gun, drab and dust covered clothes, and a
menacing look on your face.
