Long time no talk. I found this site and briefly documented my first beard attempt 4.5 years ago. I went in knowing I had little potential, and called it quits around 6 weeks, maybe pushing 8. The growth I had kept getting longer, but it became very apparent a beard was not going to happen. I'm not sure if there is any correlation, I'd assume so, but I have never been very hairy in general. In basic training, at 19yo, I did not shave the entire time, haha. By around 23yo, I'd shave twice a week.
Here's two pictures of my attempt at 26yo that were posted here:
I'm now 31 years old, feel like I hit second puberty in the last few years, and am going to give it another try. Sadly, my head hair has started disappearing as my facial hair decided it may want to try growing I start a brand new job in 2 days, so I'm feeling a bit awkward about that, but I'll have 3.5wks of growth at that point and I think the bright side might be that most everyone there will only know me with facial hair (good or bad they'll only have known me not clean shaven).
So far I've gotten some pictures on week 2 and week 3, I'll try and keep it up.
And here's week 3:
So all in all, it's started off lightyears better than before. Obviously still sparse overall, though this week I've been seeing a lot of newer growth that is either blonde or ginger. Only 1 of the 3 previous bald patches are still extremely bald. Right side along the jawline worries me, in 3 weeks there is only some fine, somewhat dark velus hair showing up, it's baby smooth.
I'm trying to stick to a 13wk plan before deciding to give up on a full beard. There's a chance Id stick with some style if I can't. For whatever reason, my mustache hair appears to be among the fastest growing hairs on my face.
