New poster here, been looking at some of the great photos and comments recently and love the feedback and comments from this community. Thirty-six years old. Last time I shaved was for a wedding on October 7, so it’s been about 6.5 weeks.
Several times in years past I have started to grow a beard in the fall/winter - start around Halloween, kept it trimmed short and then shaved it off after a few months. Sometimes this was because I just wanted a change but a lot of times it was because I kept trying to make everything exactly even on both sides and messed it up. Necklines, cheeklines, you name it. I would try and “fix” the problem and then just end up making it worse.
This time my initial goal was to go for three months with no trimming except the cheeks and neck. To help I decided to do two things: first, get the right equipment/supplies. Beard oil, wash, softener, comb, etc. That would help keep me motivated to not shave it off. Second, look at tips, pics, and other resources so when I’m having a bad day I don’t make a rash decision. Stumbled across this board during those searches.
I’m not sure what I want to look like at the end. Main goal is to get to 13 weeks (January 6, 2017) without shaving it off.
