Been a member of this site for coming up 8 years now but not posted for a long time. Good to see there are still a few familiar faces on here.
I've noticed over the past couple of years some thinning in the sides of my beard. I used to have good coverage all over but now the connectors are thinner and patchy in places.
Compare this to how it looked back in 2011. I've a lot more white and grey hair now!
Has anyone else noticed their beard become more patchy over the years? Could it be just an age thing? I did experience a temporary bald patch under my chin some years back but that grew back thankfully within a couple of months. Back in 2013 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and I had the operation to remove the gland. Thankfully after this and a subsequent course of radiotherapy my condition is stable and my PSA is currently below 0.1. Long may that be the case. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the changes in my beard - the fact that my levels of testosterone may have changed since the operation?
I'm not too concerned as long as it doesn't get any worse. Obviously I'd love it to be thicker again. I prefer my beard to be shorter rather than longer. I don't really want to resort to shaving it back to a circle beard though I have worn them over the years but I prefer the traditional full beard on myself. I have thought of trying a carve and somehow shaving out some of the weaker spots.
Any thoughts or suggestions anyone?
