This beard is getting substantial, yet there are many younger hairs to the front of the sides that are already transitional and likely to fill in pretty good over the next few months. I'm sure you are basking in the glory of watching this beard unfold before your eyes... not many guys can produce such a beast at 17
There are two schools of thought on trimming during the first 3 months vs. trimming after achieving 3 months of beard. In your case, since you have tremendous coverage that will not be affected by trimming, I favor the trim as you grow... but not too much... just the poofing. You still have transitionals under your dark coverage and as they go terminal, you will still not see skin even if you trim pretty short [but I'm not recommending that you trim short].
Flash pictures and bright sunlight will show more skin in any beard. I suggest you move the camera back for a shot or two on each update and use more natural lighting. I think that will give a better impression of your beard at this point. When you do show a closeup of the side [your first picture], include the stache and don't worry about cropping under the ear. In that shot we are looking for the younger hairs. Same with stache, but raise the head a bit so we can see the younger hairs in the soul patch. Do you understand how there is not much development left for us to comment on and you might as well show it before it becomes too late.
