I decided to put my goatee look to the test and posted a Vlog entry about it...
So thought it would be good to pop in here and get some views!

My Vlog about Beards! |

Hi guys, am new here but a big lover of the facial hair...regularly sporting a different style of beard, goatee or just plain manly stubble!!

Hi Harrydn, and welcome to the board. That's a great Vlog and great ginger beard you have there, and nobody here is going to ask you to shave it off. In
fact with all that potential you should be growing more than just a goatee, or as some would term it a circle beard. I think you would get plenty of votes for
the full-bearded look. And BTW have you any pics of your previous bearded manifestations? If so, why not post them on your profile?
Keep growing. Stay bearded! wulff |

I agree with Wolfpaul, great potential for a full beard!

I've had a full beard a few times! I got through different phases...it grows pretty quickly!
I should have photos of it knocking around so will try and find them for you guys! Glad you enjoyed the Vlog! |

Hi Harry, welcome to the board!
As for you question what to call it, a "goatee" is fine, though perhaps technically I'd call it a circle-beard or goatee and moustache. Generally we consider a "Van Dyke" to be a disconnected moustache and goatee, especially if the goatee is a bit narrow and pointed at the end...at least that's how Anthony Van Dyke himself wore it.

About harry's question in the video: it's not surprising that the girls find stubble more appealing than the circle beard. A modest circle beard is a
neat, tidy, civilized configuration of facial hair. Compared to a full-face set of stubble, some girls are likely to consider it a bit tame. On the
other hand, some will consider it "cute", so it's not a total loss.

Enjoyed the vlog Harry. Cool goatee you have, even cooler that it's red. I'd be interested to see what other styles you have had, so hope you manage to
upload some pics. As for future styles, the world is pretty much your oyster by the sound of it. Be as crazy and creative as you want. But I'd certainly
like to see you with a full beard at some point.

Well I can't find too many recent ones right now...but have had a look through what I can find...
This was taken over Christmas last year...probably after about 5/6 days of growth I think http://photos-e.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v130/135/36/504332153/n504332153_439244_2170.jpg The longest i've left it growing before is 3 weeks to a month - i'm not a trimmer, i'm a grow it and then shave it all off kind of guy! It could change though! |

Grow out the full beard and then leave it. It suits you. You want to try something different anyway, why not a long full beard. What ever you decide, I
don't think that you will have any trouble sporting any style you like.

WOW, that full, short beard looked awsome. I really think you should grow it back.

Harry, you are fully qualified to project full verbal confidence about your whiskers, whatever shape and length you let them grow to. I usually encourage full
styles, and I encourage the use of full styles as a filter against persons of bad attitude, but I don't encourage seeking martyrdoms such as lost job
opportunities or beatings by strangers.

Ha thanks very much!! You know I actually wondered the other day when my friend told me he shaved for a job interview though
I went to one recently sporting the Goatee deliberately as I thought it was much
more mature and smart looking than having clean shaven baby face....
Maybe i'm wrong though!! |

I don't think your wrong, going to an interview with a beard your confident with probably helps to get the job haha, if it's acceptable with the type
of job you want of course.

Sporting a goatee does look better than having a baby face.
