I'm 17 years old, and the last day I shaved was May 20th. It's been a little over 3 weeks. I trimmed it for the first time today, and decided it was time to take some pictures and throw them up here to see what everyone thinks.
My mustache looks dirty, so it's shaved. It doesn't connect to my chin beard, so there is no reason to keep it. That will stay shaved. I left the soul patch, and the whole chin strap. I have significant neck growth, but there is a patch right in the bottom middle of my chin that has little to no growth, and it looked silly with all the hair on my jawline and neck with that little empty patch there. Plus, my goal was to grow a chin strap. So, I shaved that. I carved down the cheeks and tried to shave in a straightish line to keep it even with my sideburn down to where the actual chinstrap starts. Notice though, that the growth on my jawline is predomiately underneath my jaw rather then ontop of it on my face. Is that the proper way to have a chinstrap?
Here's a few pictures. What do you think? Any suggestions?
Also, a question. For those of you with chin straps - how do you shave? I'm out of practice with shaving with an actual razor and shaving cream - since I had to shave almost every day of high school, I just picked up an electric razor and used it to dry shave every day because it took a lot less time. Now that I'm working on growing, I picked up a Mach 3 and some old spice shaving cream
Pics. All comments are welcome! This is my first real attempt - I've sorta kinda grown it out before, but this is the longest I've gone without shaving in the last 4 years. Wondering if this is good growth for that amount of time, and if it will thicken up or look different if I let it grow longer? Also, do you think this would look better with shorter hair? Because I am considering a hair cut. Opinions on everything? Thank you!
