Beginning it in January, I've kept a low-maintenance short beard. I trimmed it by using #6 on my basic Wahl trimmer, with a slight taper at the neck line using #3 & 4, yielding something like this: It's about as short as I can go for full beard status due to the patches on my cheeks. I like this length. This is my default beard style.
I want to keep the sides short while growing the goatee long and pointy.
For the past month I've kept the sides trimmed at #6 (about 1/2") while tapering to the jaw line to full growth on the chin and underlying neck area. I'm liking how this is growing. The left side jaw line naturally grows forward and down, but the right side jaw line wants to grow sideways. Within this month of , the sideways growth is already laying flat. I've also re-shaped the neck line to allow for more growth from the neck area below the chin, so it should catch up and fill it the pointy part even more.
I keep the mustache blended as best I can with scissors. This profile view shows the cheek patches.
I'll update later.
