Just a reminder for all of us that post...
Beard Board rules and guidelines:
1. This is not a site for ratings nor to be judged nor compared with other. We are all here to help and support one another.
2. We should all be proud of our personal growth and helpful and open to suggestions and recommendations. We don't always like what may be suggested as not everybody is going to agree on the same thing. Please keep an open mind about your opinions.
3. There will be no tolerance for any mockery or making fun of others that post their pictures no matter how short or long, thick or thin or whatever they may be. It takes lots of guts to post our pictures for the public to see in the first place. Such behavior will only discourage new members from posting.
4. If anyone has any concerns with board policy, i.e. deleted or edited posts, contact a Beard Board staff member by email or the ezboard private messaging system. Do not create a thread on Beard Board related to the matter.
This is a reminder of rule number four, which states you are not to discuss board policy, i.e. deleted posts, etc., on the board. If you do this, the post will be deleted and you will be banned along with a further notice by PM. You're far better off to PM or email a staff member if you have questions as to why your posts were deleted.
5. If you see a post that is spam-like in nature or an obvious garbage post, please DO NOT reply to it. Instead, inform one of the Beard Board staff members who will then deal with the post in an appropriate manner.
Note: there is now an option to report post. To do this, go to offending post and click on "More", then "Report Post".
6. Hair-related topics should stay focused on facial hair in general. Topics pertaining to chest hair are permitted so long as they relate to facial hair. Any topics relating to body hair below the waist level shall not be tolerated and may further lead to banning.
7. Posts and/or replies with inappropriate remarks shall not to be tolerated and shall result in immediate banning. We are not here 24 hours and 7 days a week to instantly answer your questions and concerns, so please be patient and someone will reply with the right information.
8. Please refrain from posting which pertain only to mature audiences. These include sex, violence, racism, and any topics which may be considered as sensitive topics.
9. Emails and/or PMs between members that involve harrassment or contain indecent/offensive material will not be tolerated. Requests to trade pictures back and forth are also strictly banned.
10. There should be no statements or comments stating that something is completely wrong without proof nor evidence to back it up. Rather please post as a question instead if you are not so sure about the claim.
11. Any topics that we find linking from another site with the intent of invading and/or bringing harm to our community shall be deleted and potentially reported to ezboard for further banning.
12. Please post in appropriate forums. Such post will be moved and should not become a repetitive habit. In general:
-General Discussion is for member discussions basically, otherwise...
-Facial Hair help is for those 20 and over that have questions and/or answers regarding facial hair growth.
-Teen Beards, we ask all teenagers with facial hair questions or further discussions to post there.
-Bearded Lifestyles, discussions about non-members that are either famous or in the news, etc... to post there.
-Link Exchange, links to other websites should be posted there so long as they are appropriate to the general public.
-Misc Discussion, posting games and off-topic discussions should be posted there.
13. Please do not edit nor bump up topics that were last replied over a period of 9 months ago and are considered as non-fresh topics. Instead post a new topic about it. If you see a topic that is older and wish for us to maintain, please let any of the staff members know and why for consideration so we can move it into the archive section. If your intent was to delete or remove your message, please clearly state your reason of intent as to why.
14. Do not post image of others claiming it to be yourself. This shall not be tolerated.
15. Please post using proper spelling and grammar that is readable and understandable. Failure to do so will result in a warning and consistent lack of improvement will lead to banning.
16. In general, promotion of external sites that are permanent and non-personal should be posted in the Link Exchange forum. If you are posting a non-permanent link such as an ebay auction, please notify a staff member when it is concluded so we can close or delete the topic as necessary. Personal sites such as on myspace, facebook, deviantart, and other similar profile sites should instead be put in your profile or in your signature at least.
17. If you need to remove posts, please use the delete option rather than editing your post out, as it will only result like rule #13 where it will bump up an outdated topic. If you need to remove a post, please notify a staff member with full details explaining why such action is necessary.
18. Do not post pictures of other members without their consent nor agreement to do so in any way, shape or form, as consequences can be undesireable.
Depending on the severity of violating any of the above, the following may proceed.
minor violation: a warning by private message. 3 strikes and you are out. Appeals shall be taken into fair consideration.
major violation: a ban along with an explanation by private message. Appeals shall be taken into fair consideration.
obvious violation: a ban without further explanation. Any appeals shall be taken into fair consideration.
Posting images (hotlinking):
Also, if you post an image to another website such as Beard Community, Beards.org or any site with their own rules and restrictions, please at least post a topic along with the photo image there, and not here. Hotlinking from BCBB is hotlinking, and Russ McClay still has to pay the bandwidth costs. Please keep in mind that not all Internet Service Providers are so friendly when it comes to allowing images to be posted for messageboard purposes. While some mask such images with a company logo such as tripod, geocities or angelfire, some certain sites go to extremes in masking with a hideous image which is in short offensive to the general public.
Note: Beard Board has finally migrated to yuku which now enables image uploading to our profiles for posting purposes. This is great news!
We are not doctors:
Jim Elliott received an email from a man asking for medical advice regarding his lack of facial hair. In it, he was referred as "Doctor." Just to let you know, Jim Elliott is not a doctor. Jeff Falberg, the board's creator, is also NOT a doctor. Alex, Abraham and Riley, the board's three moderators, are also NOT doctors. Please, if you have any questions of a medical nature or are in need of medical advice, please consult your physician. We CANNOT help you in that area. Thanks.
If anybody has any issues, please feel free to contact the administration (The Goatee King, JimElliott, JimBarbasol, stubble stud, wulffpaul, Phantommaster or fullbeard).
