I back on this board after a year and a half away. In Sping 2013 I caved and trimmed my 6 month beard down and decided to live with it short for a while. Then late Spring 2014 I just found myself to busy to trim for a long while and realized that I had a nice longish beard going, so I decided just to go for it again.

I'm estimating that I'm at about seven to eight months length now. This is the longest that I've allowed my beard to grow.

I was feeling pretty good about it until last week when I got a little grief from a coworker at the end of a video conference. He ended the call with "Time to shave, Andrew." And then my boss was comparing me to a terrorist. Got me a little down for a few days.

I'm really wanting to go for a year and see how I feel about it. I do need to find some way to control the fly aways. I do use a beard oil conditioner every morning, so that helps. Of course, I often find myself absentmindedly stroking or otherwise playing with the beard during the day. If feels a bit like a safety blanked. I keep an extra brush in the car now to tame it and get it looking presentable after a day of playing with it.
I'm thinking about cutting the hair shorter for a while. The long on top with an undercut was fun good for a while, but I'm itching for a change and I'd rather cut my hair than my beard.
