Hello, gents. It's October, and I couldn't imagine a better time to start growing out a beard for the first time in my life. I am looking to go from Oct-Dec & have a respectable beard by the time Christmas rolls around and that cold weather rushes in.
I have never let my facial hair grow out prior to this Summer. I didn't even know I was capable of doing it to be quite honest, for I had been an avid shaver since the first stubble started appearing in my teens. Due to vacation, I stumbled upon the discovery that I had some decent growth after a week or two and had been experimenting and observing a little bit with various degrees of stubble for the past 2 months. However, now is the time that I think I am ready to let it grow & enjoy the process and - hopefully - end up with a solid final product.
Here I am clean shaven/couple days worth of stubble:

As you can see, I have quite a strong jacial & strong facial structure. This has contributed to some of the hesitancy in letting it grow out, but we shall see. Next is with a week or so of stubble.

Here there is about 2 weeks of stubble. This is the style that I have worn the most over the past 2 months. I would regularly trim it with electric clippers to be even & tidy, and I would use a razor to give it a nice clean edge on the cheek & neckline. It worked very well with my style.

To demonstrate my frustrations and give hope to other growers, this is a picture of 4 weeks of growth earlier this Summer. I put it here to show how weak my mustache growth was when I decided to stop shaving. It grows extremely slowly in comparison to the sides, and that is quite evident in this picture. In fact, my friends thought it gave off a Wolverine vibe (refer to the comic book character & movies). I ended up trimming the sides back down & letting the chin & mustache area catch up & dominate.

And finally, these are pictures from last night. If I had to guess, I'd estimate that this would technically be at about 3-3.5 weeks

The mustache caught up, and overall I have pretty good coverage. My facial hair is a mixture of black, brown, and blonde (looks great outdoors due to the shiny factor it adds. You can see it a little bit with the flash here). The sides are darker because my mustache & chin areas have much more blonde. The soul patch is white-hot blonde and is the slowest growing area of all.
