Greetings, gentlemen. Thought I'd join in the fun here on the Beard Board, as I'll probably grow my beard back in the fall for the winter months, and currently have a handlebar moustache. I came here via mentions on the Handlebar Club forum.
I've had a beard and moustache, albeit trimmed short, for somewhere north of the last 2 decades. Probably started around the time I turned 25 or so, kept beard trimmed to 1/4" or a bit longer, probably never got more than 1" long at any point, and shaved just under jaw line, unless I was being lazy. Moustache was more or less kept trimmed just at the line of my top lip.
I backed into the HB, by trimming the beard but not the moustache for a few weeks, then shaving the beard, leaving the HB, and shocking the heck out of my wife. I've been pleased with the growth, and I seem to have it under some control now, where I can get the hairs from the middle to go sideways, instead of into the mouth, mostly. Having never had a stand-alone moustache before, I found good guidance and advice on the Handlebar Club forum before proceeding to scrape off the beard around the end of April.
Anyway, I'm impressed with the follicular follies here, and with the comraderie, and thought I'd try it out.
I've lost at least 16" of hair off my head in the last month or thereabouts. Went from a fairly long ponytail to an inch or so on top, as in the first pic, and now next to nothing, a #2 guard. My wife, who cuts my hair, convinced me to leave it a little longer on top when I cut the long hair off, but I hated it. (See first pic.) I either want it long, or practically not there.
The moustache, though, is much larger than I've ever had before. I'm loving it. She's not entirely sure, but likes not being poked by short, stiff moustache hairs in her nose when I mash my mug against her face.
Here's some current pics. In the first, I was getting ready to go to a backyard birthday party for our neighbor's daughter. As it was after sundown, I didn't spend a lot of time on it, just put some G2B on the tips and locked it in with the hair dryer.

I generally go natural, as in the three other pics, with lanolin or a very soft wax to just give guideance. I use a hair dryer and comb on it to get it to go more or less where I want it, then use the lanolin or wax, or sometimes just leave it alone.
