I've never grown a beard before and decided it was about time. I'm 27 and forgot to shave for a few weeks in February. With a head start like that, I figured I might as well keep going.
My goal is a full year and then I'll have a very good idea of how I feel about it and can either keep it or decide it's not for me. Here are some pictures of how it looks right now, 3 months:

So far it has been going really well. I haven't had any real itching and the bald patches I had filled in pretty quick. At first it grew pretty straight but it has started to curl (see sideburns) so I'm hoping it fills in as far as thickness goes. I've had it trimmed once to clean it up because it was looking pretty shaggy but didn't shorten it at all.
The one thing that I'm trying to figure out is how to keep my mustache from growing straight out. You can see in the 3/4 view how it shoots outward rather than curling. Would mustache wax help with that or is it something I shouldn't worry about? I'm at that stage where it gets in the way of eating but isn't long enough to keep out of the way.
Anyway, I'm excited to see how this turns out!
