I never started out on September 4, 2012, to achieve a Yeard. I wanted to grow out some length from around 1/2" to 1 1/2" but nothing else really crossed my mind. I'd had a full beard since 2010, and a goat & stache since 2008. So, how did I get here? Well, I came across Fue Goatee's thread on a tied goat that looked "trimmed." Sort of interesting because for my work--as well as family--a short beard was okay. A long beard would be less well received. So, I looked further into that and around February with some effort I achieved a tied up beard. I even received compliments about how "nice" my trim job worked. Kept my mouth shut--let them think what they will. While I haven't had a razor below the ears in years, now I had gotten many months out without any trim--not even the stache that indicated several times that it believed its new role was a built-in floss dispenser. As the months went on tying actually became much easier with the extra length. And then it was September 4, 2013, one year from the last trim of my beard. So I've got a Yeard. I don't know where I go from here. I don't feel like trimming right now. I keep it tied 99% of the time. I do like to ride my Harley with it loose, but I will tie it loosely if I'm going to go on the highway. Once getting whipped by a beard at 70mph was enough! That's how I got a Yeard, and the future will have to take care of itself. These pictures are loose this morning and then tied.
