Today is Oct 10, 2013. The last day soap/shampoo/conditioner has touched my hair and beard is Sep 10, 2013.
I have used jojoba oil twice in the last month. I simply "wash" my hair with warm/hot water at around 105F/40C.
I massage my scalp/face as if using shampoo and conditioner. I still wash the rest of my body with soap. When
finishing up I put the water on cold, which is 65F/18C. I rinse my head and face for about 20-30 seconds. It is
quite invigorating and feels good. It took me a few times to get use to it. I have not noticed any difference in my
hair/beard. No one in person has noticed it either. I even got a comment on day 12 that my beard was looking the
best it ever has. It was funny because this was from a lady that sells health/beauty care products. I did not tell her
I was on day 12 of water only. I have noticed other members here who only wash/condition their beards once or
twice a month. Between that person and Red Castle I decided to go for it.
This is from post 42 in Red Castles thread, below RC's words is a link to his thread.
Keith - As for the beard maintenance; I'm going through a bit of a "natural" phase, so not using shampoo
at all, not even on my head. After about 4 weeks, it stops being oily. I think shampoo is a waste of time
and money; the natural oils do a better job once they are able to get back in balance. Also, I find conditioner
and shampoo irritates the skin under my beard. So instead, I blast it with shower water and then dunk my
whole face in a sink full of cold water. Then the jojoba. Only problem with jojoba is it can sometimes make
the beard a bit dry and crunchy, but this can be avoided by applying whilst the beard is still slightly damp.

Have any of you fellows tried this method. I have read the thread about how often do you shampoo/condition
I am on there saying that I did it twice a week. After 30 days of water only, I see no reason to go back to my
old way. I also notice hardly any dandruff, no skin rashes, or any itching. Nothing unusual at all.
Here is a picture of me today, this afternoon. Looking the same as I ever was. Keith
This is my current picture (I think you can tell the December 10, 2013 picture)
