Hi Everyone,
22 years old here, just now trying to grow my first ever beard. Over the years I've dabbled with what some might call a goatee, but never for longer than a week or two before I'd get shy about it and shave. (Rightfully so, I think. It was always pretty pathetic looking).
Now, for the first time ever, I have a stretch of time that I think I can try and grow a beard. I'm at school, I care little about how it may or may not look right now, and i am ready to commit. I've already heard negative reviews from many of my (girl)friends, but I'm staying strong.
I should note, my dad has a BADASS moustache. I mean, just straight up authoritative... One of those. My 26 year old brother has always had bachelor's scruff. Google "Ryan Reynolds Beard" and you'll have his doppleganger. Needless to say I'm jealous. He could do that at 18.
So, I have to ask, based on these photos am I ready to give it a go? This is after about 3 weeks without shaving, give or take (I can't be sure, as I started this journey without knowing it). I will admit, I dyed my beard once about a week ago. "Light Brown" I believe, from Hair Club for Men at Safeway. I saw a dozen of my close friends THAT night after doing it, and nobody noticed so I don't think my cheating could have helped me that much, or they would have. Still, I feel like eliminating those blonde hairs made it look fuller.
Any advice? I can't seem to connect my moustache to my chin (gap on either side), and my cheeks are certainly patchy. Also, my NECK seems to be where all the growth is at! What's with that?! As part of looking professional I feel like that low-neck scruff will have to go anyway.
Open to any and all feedback.
PS: Sorry I cant seem to straighten photo.
