hello all I'm Ryan i decided to grow my first beard. I'm 33 years old, hopefully i will be able to grow a full beard i guess time will tell. I'm going to post progress pics and i am open to any and all advice and opinions. does it look like i will be able to grow a full beard? i am at 8 days of growing. i hope my pics show and i hope this is the right place to post

looks good for 8 days.you have great evan coverage i think you will have big full beard no problem.just give it time

Welcome to the board Ryan. Yes, you will definately be able to grow a beard for sure. Just keep sharp objects away from your face and don't act in hast on any shaving ideas that you might have.

First off, welcome to the board mate! Yes your pics showed and this is probably the best place to post updates of your beard journey. You've got some great growth for only 8 days; I don't think you'll have any problems what so ever growing a full beard to be proud of. Looking at your pics you have fantastic coverage everywhere, even on your cheeks which is an area a lot of guys can have 'issues' with early on. You're going to have a great stache too by the looks of it. I like the white hairs also, that'll give your beard character. How long were you thinking of growing? 2-3 months is about the time you need to allow to really see what you're capable of. Do you envisage letting it grow natural or will you need to carve neck and cheek lines at some point for work? I look forward to your next update. Keep on growing and keep us all posted :-)

@rdbnet thanks. not sure about the neck yet i work in Hvac so not really any issues for a natural full beard. so im only a week or so into grow time and my neck really itches , how long is the itchy phase and is there anything i can do to relieve the itching.

Have to admit I can't remember mine ever itching, guess I was lucky. I'm sure someone on here will be able to answer that question for you though. Nice to hear you shouldn't have a problem with work, that's a huge bonus :-)

Welcome! The itch is common and like others have said, WILL go away in due time. I will also echo HDBiker's comment to keep the scissors and clippers away from your face and give yourself TIME. Patience is needed as very few can grow that full thick beard in a couple weeks, most take 2-3 months (or longer of you want the longer look). My avatar pic is at 2 1/2 months (10 weeks) and will be going for another month and a half for sure. Don't get discouraged and post your questions here before making any rasch decisions! Half the fun for me was taking those weekly photos and seeing the progress as the weeks fly by.

Keep coming back and look forward to the updates!

I carve a neckline but for me the itch disappears after 3 weeks. BTW I think you have fantastic growth and should definately grow out the full beard

That's some serious growth you've got there for only 2 weeks mate! A lot of guys would kill for growth like that. I don't think you're going to have any problem at all growing an awesome full beard! Look forward to seeing your progress in the next update. Include a front on shot if you can so we can see your stache/goatee area. Keep on growing mate :-)

gona let it grow for at least 3 or 4 months and see where I'm at. itch is not as bad got some Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner at cvs it got rid of most of the itch
