Hi guys,
I haven't been on the board quite as much lately - been busy with teacher training. Anyways, I just finished carving my pumpkin last night and I thought I'd post a couple of pics:

This year, I found a pattern for doing "Devil Flanders" online. I do my pumpkins freehand but I like having a guide or picture to work from. This is the first year that I tried doing a pumpkin without any sections cut right through. The light shines through based on the depth of the pumpkin flesh.
For any of the new board members, here are pics from previous years:

And I also dug out a pic of the first pumpkin that I tried that varied from a standard Jack-o'-Lantern:

I have a pic of my costume to share too:

I'm pretty happy with it, although I haven't found a good wig to complete the look. Either way, I think most people will get the idea. (Alan - Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover) It's funny, too because since I've been doing my training in one of the high schools here, a number of students have said to me "You look like that guy from The Hangover." On a similar note, the beard seems to make a memorable and positive impression. I have found after meeting many teachers, administrators, and students, they remember me well - very cool.
Comments are always welcome and if anyone else would like to share their pumpkin and/or costume pics feel free to add to this thread.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween,
Fred
