Hey y'all,
Been lurking for a while, and thought that I would go ahead and join and say hello. I am somewhat new to this beard business. I grew a mustache and goatee last spring, which filled in pretty well. But because of the job that I had - I kept only that, and kept it well trimmed. I have since quit that job, and went back to school. Now no one cares what I look like, and it's a fantastic opportunity to see what my facial hair can do!
So, as mentioned - the stache and goatee are looking pretty good. Actually, I get a lot of compliments on the mustache... I just recently let that start to grow out, so that I can get a nice twist with it. I also like the color of my facial hair, as it's mostly red, but with some blond and gray mixed in. I think that it looks good with me having such dark brown hair. But, I'm concerned with how dodgy the sides look. The photos are from today, and that is several months of growth, with no trimming at all. They are growing fine - you can see the length. But it's still so thin. And I still have bald spots between my sides and goatee. I do however, have constant new growth coming in. Mostly blond at first, but all seems to get thicker and darker if I leave it alone. Sort of fascinating really. But what do you guys think?
Sidenote: I give tours of a historic mansion in Savannah, GA. I look just like the portrait of the Confederate soldier who lived there. Same facial hair. Awesome.
