I agree with mrdanturner above

For those of you contemplating joining this challenge but thinking that it's a huge commitment, you need to realise something about moustache hairs:

At least in my experience, the terminal length of the centre hairs of the stache for most guys is around 2" (4 months) - as you progress to the sides from there the terminal length becomes somewhat longer - some hairs in my stache reach the hairline on my scalp. Few hairs get much longer than this.

So really, committing to grow for a year isn't that much different than committing to grow for six months - most of the gains in size happen early on and then everything starts to hit an equilibrium as hairs start hitting terminal length, falling out and then starting over.

Frankly, if I thought joining this challenge could help make my stache bigger, I would throw my hat into the ring.....but, sadly, mine has pretty much stopped. frown.gif
Gato, your post is eye opening for me, as I'm about  1.5 weeks out from the 4 month mark on my mustache. I have been noticing lots of hairs falling out of my stache when combing it. From what you are saying (if I understand correctly), a 6 month mustache would be about the point of "maximum stache", with the exception of the tips?

I'm in new mustache territory length wise, and would love to see how large I can grow it, but committing to March 2017 seems daunting. I would like to grow another 2 months (making to a total of six for myself), and see what happens. I will be following this thread in spirit, if not to the letter.
