If you look at the lower right side, you'll see it curls back, and I remember the same thing when I was growing it out for a few months. What causes that, and is there a way to tame it early on in the growing process so that things lie down properly? I don't want "swirly twirly" beard, lol. I will say I had been shaving for a while with a Phillips electric razor that has three rotating blades... could that have caused the right side to turn in strange directions?
Man, your left side is really going to be tall to the cheek line when that all fills in.  You are loaded with transitionals and your beard is going to be substantial in a year or two.smiley: smile  I think you will be able to look back then and say, wow, this beard was worth the wait!smiley: smile

Showing us  your picture at 1 week since last shave answers your question about hairs growing in different directions.  Hairs emerge in the direction that the follicle pushes them out,  They continue to grow in that direction and when gravity takes over, they hair falls vertical.  It's quite easy so see where the right side hairs are headed initially.  There is nothing you can do to change this and is the reason a stubble beard can be hard to manage if there are hairs laying horizontal.

Do you have an idea when you might let the sides grow?  It would be interesting to see how many of those hairs will show terminal in months 2 & 3.
