I'm late to this thread, not having checked in here in a while, and so I have just read about your family and job losses (good riddance to the latter) and your Easter observance. Beautifully written, and heartfelt. You will be fine. The loss of a parent is difficult whenever it comes, even acknowledging what a fantastic, long ride she had. It's still a significant loss. You honored her well by providing the loving care she needed, and the ex-employer will get -- and apparently has gotten -- his just reward. Good luck with a job search, revel in the wonderful memories or your mom, and power on. (Oh, and your beard continues to be a real beaut.)
