Beardjourney, Rothenberger, baldbandit, Paul, MM, JNC, and Maverick, thank you all, my friends.  It had been a long time since I'd had the opportunity to me a fellow board member and it reminded me of just how much fun it is to put a real person, and voice, with someone on here.  This truly is a great community of fine, furry fellows smiley: happy

Well, Beard Whisperer, hop a plane to Oregon and let's get you started.  You're welcome to stay long enough to knit yourself a couple of sweaters in your size  Getting the tension even is, aside from learning how to repair dropped or incorrect stitches, the hardest part of knitting.  The best thing to do is start with a project that isn't size- or gauge-critical, like a scarf.  Oh, but what would you do with one of those?

That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever had, Yank, thank you! smiley: embarassed  I am, indeed, much more the happy-go-lucky guy rather than the marauder!  I have been to Singapore a few times.  In fact, the World Orchid Conference was held there just a few years ago and the Singapore Botanic Garden rates as one of the top for orchids in the world (check it out if you haven't already).  I vividly remember a visit there about 15 years ago where I was sitting at a hawker stand eating some gloriously spicy food and looked up to see a huge Dendrobium orchid in full bloom about 20 feet up in the tree over my head.  It was awesome!

I was digging around looking for a t-shirt this morning and found the beard shirt my wife gave me a few months ago.  I guess this quells any doubt about whether my beard's still growing.
