The moustache is strong, just keep it growing and it eventually will get easier. It's still in the middle phase.

I do my best sir! An untrimmed moustache is not very common here in Germany. So far I havent seen one in puplic. 5 days ago I saw an epic handlebar stache on a older man, but the middle part was trimmed. It also looked great, but i will stick it out. Thank you

Great update, and generally amazing progress. Moustache is really amazing. As for your thought process, you're right. You are your own worst critic. The friends and people around you stop noticing things after first time. They'll say once bnad compliment once, or maybe twice, and that's it.. People stopped paying attention. And it's amazing to have girlfriend that you have by your side. It would be a way harder if she wasn't by your side.
Also, let us know how it went at poker night.

Thanks dude! The Pokernight was pretty funny this time, although I lost a bit of money. There were a few comments like "What is that wild growth in your face?", "You look so old!", "If you leave only your stache you would look like Dartanion!", "We could make oldschool pictures with your 60s style haircut and your beard". So not very bad comments and I didnt take them too serious...
And yes, without the encouragement of my girlfriend it would be way way harder!

Servus Tom,

It seems that the mental issue of being bearded ( you might not be really happy with your beard now) is still strong.
I think it also shows in how you feel if your friends make a comment like " what's that in your face". When I see my friends we also make comments like that to each other. Like man I can see your scalp, the hair is getting thin isn't it?. I see that more as friends teasing a bit. I don't think you should take that to hard.
And if a person says I think you look better with a shorter beard. Just say I don't!

For sure the mental issue is strong. I havent accepted my beard yet because I overanalyse and only see the weak spots. I think it looks sparse and thin and pretty scruffy. I also have a lot of pressure due to my job in which I must have a neat look. I am allowed to have a beard but the regulations says it has to be trimmed and neat. So far my superiors didnt say much, but I know they aren´t very happy with how I look. During leisure time I am more relaxed. Its a big challenge but I have come too far to give up now. My beard wants to show what he is made of and so do I
Thanks for the addvice to not take comments to serious. You were right, its more teasing each other....
Thank you my friend!

Beardvarian, you have a great looking beard that will only improve with time. It is very easy to get discouraged especially if you are comparing your beard to others. Stay strong! You have an awesome stache by the way, so wear it proudly! I had trouble with mine staying in place all day as well until Dirk (aka beard69) told me about a fantastic holding product called "bayrishe bartwichse". I believe its German, so you should be able to find it fairly easily over there! I ordered my from Amazon. I'm telling you nothing holds like this stuff, so try it out...I dressed my stache in a handlebar fashion before I left this morning (7 hrs. ago). I have been working with customers all day, and it hasn't budged! So Keep Beardin' Strong, Dude!

Thanks mate! I bought "bayrische Bartwichse" a few weeks ago and have used it a few times. It´s available at a drugstore nearby. It really helps to keep the hairs in shape but I always have trouble having the taste of it in my mouth when I drink out of a cup for example. Besides that I have the unbreakable habit to touch my beard and stache all the time. I need to kick that nasty habit somehow.
Thanks for your encouraging words!

Cheers Tom
