Politics have never much interested the good Sheriff. Nevada's Territorial and early Statehood days were rife with political intrigue and chicanery, backroom deals, purchased elections, and general mischief. In contrast, he is definitely a man of unassailable integrity, definitive fairness, and sound judgement -- I suppose these are the characteristics we need in a leaderĀ for times such as these.
