Also, there is one other thing to consider... that is, your eyes see exactly what is out there but your brain processes these images. As you mentally accept your beardedness, it is possible that the processing of those images changes slightly to give you a different perspective on it.  I have had monovision for quite some time and it's amazing what the brain does to render 2 differently focussed images into the result needed.

 
That's true. It could simply be that I've gotten used to the apparent color difference, and now my mind doesn't focus on it. In the end, it's probably some of both.
