Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the photo's it helps! So lets start with the present. For 4 weeks you are showing good signs of coverage all over, as for the itching - you know this will pass and if you need a bit of help some beard oil (or jojoba) will help soften your beard during this phase.

First advice is to put that trimmer away (or throw it out??) this is only going to stall your beard in the end and as you have found out, once you start to trim ... when do you stop? So let your beard grow. We usually suggest 13 weeks is a good first goal so that you can see what your beard looks like once fully established - so for you this would be the next 9 weeks.

Going back to your 2014 photo's - you now know that your beard will be decent. As for the cowlick with extra length this will lessen but it may always be there. Did you use any products on your beard last time? If not then beard balm can help calm wayward parts of your beard. With more time and training this should also diminish. From this photo too you can see that you have a common pattern on your soulpatch, now whilst beards mature and it may not be the same this time around, you first goal whilst definately attainable - may not be as full in the soulpacth area - are you prepared to accept this?

Also realise that for this look you have to stop trimming the stache !!

Your goal for a massive beard is possible - good luck this time around
