I was doing a bit of "archeology" and achieved building a "brief history of my beard" I discovered that since my early 20s I had some of the potential that so far I'm discovering. Why I never dared to let it grow?

The bigger cheek is one of them. But there are others, some of which seem we all share.

* Not believe that have the genetics. Perhaps it derives that our fathers or uncles neither had a beard. (Perhaps they also doubted his genetic or had prejudices).

* Prejudices. Only the bad guys wear beards: pirates, homeless, motorcyclists gang members, bank owners. Or beards are dirty, smelly, carry bugs and diseases. And another bunch of nonsense.

* The false myth that in a few weeks a beard is established. That's true for only a few blessed who in just two months have a monster on their faces. But the rest of us need more time.

Anyway, this journey has taken me to stand up to each of them. I guess with the same force, I can face difficulties in other areas of my life. This is not just a outward journey. It is a journey inward.
