Hmmm well darn. I got shafted then. My dad has a full beard and one in his early 20s. Both of my grandfathers had beards. Hmmm

I usually just go with a circle beard. Just attempted to see if I could get a full beard going. Sad. Haha
I really do not like to give advice that is contrary to one of my fellow beard men, but I think that if you really have a desire to go with a full beard you should still keep after that goal.  If the pic that you posted is a relatively present one I would say just keep growing for  a while longer and see if your beard gets a bit fuller with less patchiness.  You may just need more time.  If you put in a couple extra months to grow your beard out and it doesn't appear that you're going to get much more in the way of fullness then you may want to consider another style like circle beard or Van Dyke.  I say don't give up yet.
