WEEK 13 - UPDATE

A few days ago, we were having lunch with my wife at friends house. The youngest  son of them is 24 years old and is growing a beard. My wife tried to make a mockery about of my use of beard oil, but when she mentioned this, the son of our friends taught us a small bottle of PRORASO for recommend it. I told him it was precisely the first oil I had bought, but that I'm now using one that I fabricate. The mockery who tried to make my wife became a conversation about beards, for not only the son but the father, our friend, a renowned psychoanalyst, is a lifelong bearded man.

About of the beard oil that I'm using. It is a mixture of argan oil with essential oils of rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus, used not only for its aroma but for its therapeutic effects on the skin. The oil I use it at night to go to sleep with the oiled beard. At night comb with brush. In the morning, after showering, I use beard balm and a comb. Then I end with manual adjustment. For the mustache a some wax...  and ready. Twice a week I wash with beard shampoo. That's my routine. Since a couple of weeks have started to fall a few hairs. I understand that is normal. Some because they have reached their useful time and others because they break and fall. I wonder at what point the beard hairs loss ceases to be a normal?

Another day, after that lunch with this friends, we find a cousin of my wife. She seeing me, he said, "you have the beard biggest than ever, right?". After my affirmative answer he said: "You look very "funky", remind me of Fleetwood Mac". I just can smiled.

A week ago we visited my wife's aunt. She asked me if I am growing a beard. I answered: "Yes". And she said me: "I like it".

With all this, I decided to have a conversation with my wife about my beard. We talked for nearly an hour about it. I achieved she understand that the beard growth is not just a issue of appearance, "how I look", but "how I feel" and therefore it is an inner journey. So inner, which can be a spiritual journey. It was a nice chat and can tell her my reflections about this trip.

Two days ago, thinking about my week 13 and what to do forward, I had a doubt: I should continue growing freely or make some trim? Usually, it used to do was cut a bit of my right cheek to try to compensate with the left. I knew that if I asked to my bearded friends of Board, you tell me not to do anything, just grow. So to find another point of view (maybe a excuse), I asked my wife. And she said the same thing: do not do anything, just let it grow the beard. I guess she is on board.

These are my counts: mustache in week 14; left cheek in week 13; and the rest of the beard in week 12. There will be no trim (or perhaps a haircut in the head to return to a cleaner look). For the rest, the beard will grow freely.

Thank you all guys for your comments, your support and your friendship.
