Bray, good to see you again!  I like the way you say 'when' your beard gets long  Thank you!

Hants, thanks buddy, it's been a great ride and the fun continues!  Fortunately one of the benefits of a big beard is that you can't see me blush, either smiley: embarassed  Thank you for that.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we all have the family we choose, and these are some of mine, DoNTMOV3.  He was my roommate in graduate school and we've been close friends since.  I've had the privilege to be a part of all the great events of his life, including being best man at his wedding.  I wouldn't have miss his daughter's Bat Mitzvah for the world!

OK, guys.  As I mentioned in my last post I spent the day in Portland today seeing someone I met on this board and who has become a dear friend.  His name on the board is TiminNY.  He hasn't been around in a while but you can still find his thread if you search.  He comes to Portland once or twice a year to visit his parents and we never miss a chance to spend a day together.  Amazingly this is the third Christmas now that we've gotten together!  My wife joined us this time and we all spent a very leisurely lunch at a Portland icon, Olympia Provisions, talking beards, opera, life, food, wine, you name it.  He's let his beard get fairly long now - though he assures me he doesn't quite qualify for Long Beards - but he's resorted to trimming his mustache pretty severely,  He also asked me to send his 'Hello' to everyone here.  Anyway, enough babble, here's the evidence, with the two of us standing in front of the infamous 'MEAT' sign!

I was going to crop the photo to center us but noticed the photo bomb of the bearded guy working the counter, then noticed that the guy in the background making sausage is also bearded and, lo and behold, so is the customer sitting at the counter.  Hey, it's Portland, if you're male you'd better have a beard smiley: happy  I wore the long braid today only because I woke up late and didn't have time to brush the beard, so braid-and-go it was.

Now I need to work on an update photo that isn't centered on food! smiley: laugh

Cheers!
Tom
