It is doing fine ... let it be and let it grow. Remember a beard needs 13 weeks ... and ... hair grows in cycles, so you may have some slower growing hairs appearing later. I usually tell guys to look about 7-8 weeks. Don't worry about it right now ... let it get to 13 weeks and then decide. I think it will turn out a lot better than you think it will. Also, the sides do grow slower than the rest of the beard. And ... you are going to look and feel scruffy until it fills in more ... that's okay, it's normal and a lot of people can see you are growing, so ... it should be fine. Hang in there ... it'll shape up more as time goes by.
