These pictures really point out the fact that you have very long transitional hairs. With certain lighting they do look darker but I'm sure they will darken naturally in the weeks ahead. I would just suggest that you brush the sides and possibly use some beard balm to get them going down and forward. If they insist on curling under the ear and gaining length, I would trim just those hairs. On the undercarriage hairs, goatee looks fine but I would probably trim the longer hairs further back until the full undercarriage develops.
