Welcome to the board! Well, I can tell you that trimming only sets you back. What you need is length. As it gets longer, it lays down more. I have waves in mine and it gives my beard character. As to products - beard balm, a hair dryer (yup ... train it ... I do), light hair gel, hair spray ... all of those things work. That said, I think you have good coverage and a really good beard and, depending upon what you want, I'd like to see you give up the trimmer for two to three months and let it work itself out and grow! It will look fine and the issues seem to work themselves out with length. What style of beard are you thinking you want? I finally found a style that I liked at 6 months of growth (no trimming). Thoughts??
