Welcome to the board, man! So, a beard needs at least 3 months (13 weeks) to fill in properly. Sometimes guys need more time. Also, your beard will continue to develop well into your 20s, 30s and 40s - finally, hair grows in cycles, so there may be some slower growing hairs that may appear - sometime around 7-8 weeks. So, I see potential. I would suggest starting with a 3 month goal, post here weekly and let's see how it grows. Also, are you carving a neckline at all? If you are, I'd like to see you stop for a week or so as I think it can be lowered. If not, then just let it all grow and cover your jawline more. So ... set an initial goal of 3 months and then decide on a style of beard. Go for it!
