@Karl,
Apologies for not responding sooner. I hadn't checked my thread for some time and was barely active on the board through the end of August and beginning of September; I had a stomach flu. As to my beard length, I'm currently sitting at 3.5 inches. I have been maintaining the extra length through the goatee since the beard challenge but I'm not planning on going any longer right now. You do know me well; I would have a hard time "letting it all go wild." For maintaining my current length, I basically take my trimmer "with the grain" through my beard. I vary length with different guard settings and the amount of pressure. Sideburns are trimmed shortest on a 3 and transition into a 4 setting for the back of the sides. I then use a 5 for the rest of the sides. Through the front and underside (where I want more length), I simply run the trimmer (with the #5 guard) very lightly through that region. For the area just under my lip, I trim a little more closely to keep my beard from bulging out too much. I have also been trying some freehand trimming as well; I use the trimmer with no guard and simply shape the front/underside of my beard. I also use scissors for this as well, especially if I want to even up a small section of hairs. I will post an update soon but there is very little change - maybe a few more greys. lol.
@Flounderbooks,
I'm glad I could help. Thank you for the compliment.
@Scoba,
Thank you.
@Veeceejr,
Thanks. And I'm definitely feeling better now.
@Trick,
Thank you. I'm glad you were able to see all of those very scenic places. My very first trip through Jasper/Banff, Lake Louise etc. was years ago when I was just a boy and my family camped through there. It was an amazing trip.
