Dantes, you and I may be alike in gaining straight length without the accompanying fullness that guys like TomE and Beardingguy get. In my case, perhaps yours, those longer follicles have fewer neighbors to protect each other, so they are more prone to damage. After the Nevada Day beard contest (October 31st), I'll be following suit with you and BHster in getting a trim that will shorten the overall length but still keep me in Long Beards.

I did hear back from LEGO-Sheriff Triibeard (he seems to be thoroughly enjoying your hospitality!), and we were able to discuss the details of the telemetry data before the disaster at sea. The evidence strongly supports the idea that the failure was due to freeze-thaw damage to the submersible when the airship when too high over the Rocky Mountains and descended too quickly into warmer air on the eastern slope. Some of the wreckage has been washing up on Corvo and other islands in the Azores. We may be able to check out this theory if we can get those parts sent back here for analysis whenever he returns from Germany.

The case for sabotage -- especially by RiffRaff -- is rather weak now, and that rascal even appears to have been the origin of the clue that led MetalBeard to the rescue site. I suspect these two characters have a history with each other that we are only beginning to discover.
