Guys, I try to make this short, as short as the tiny amount of oil in this bottle (8 ml/ 0.27 F. Oz.).

I got this oil, when I was very sick of the woody smell of my first real beard oil. After a few days of uninterrupted usage, my beard smelled like old wood in a damp forest and not like the somehow nice fresh cut wood it smelled right away after using.

Anyway, this review is about the Mr. Natty Famous Beard Elixir which doesn’t smell like wood at all, because I wanted to give my beard some natty love after that damp forest experience

Mr. Natty (born Matt Raine) is a London barber who wants to bring men grooming products with a „bing bong“ and apparently natty love. His products usually are based on quality ingredients and are a bit on the overpriced side imho.

The confusion started right at ordering. Is the content of the bottle 8 ml or 10 ml? Is it extremely expensive or just expensive therefore - a bottle comes at a bit less than 10 € or 14 US $ if you order at amazon.com. The confusion starts here right again. Amazon claims it’s 10 ml, but I wouldn’t count on that.

Anyway for a regular less than 20 min one way ride to Berne, I would pay more than the 10 €, if the ticked would be purchased for the full fare. Sooo, I decided to give the oil a try, since the reviews were pretty good.

Ok, after arriving, it’s definitely only 8 ml and I couldn’t shake off the thought about snake oil whenever I used it.

Speaking of using, I didn’t like the drip bottle, because almost every time I lost the first drop on the surface, where the oil was standing.

The oil itself is more on the light side. The ingredients:

Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Prunus Persica Kernel Oil, Vetiveria Zizanioides Root Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Juniperus Communis Fruit Oil, Pinus Sylvestris Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Peel Oil

And it made my beard incredibly soft, especially after washing with the Face Forest Soap (from Mr. Natty as well - my first review). However, the softness came with some unwanted fluffiness. But, if you have a very wiry beard, this might be just for you.

I had to use slightly more of the oil than expected, due to it’s thin consistency. That was a good thing, because I could not decide whether I like the smell or not and the smell changed in the bottle after I opened it - maybe because of the warm weather lately, or it was an old batch I got???

At first the smell is very strong, too strong for my taste, despite I like bergamot very much - think of Earl Grey tea. Apparently I didn’t like the piney tones along with it. It also smelled sort of oily - again, it probably has to be used up fast once it’s opened, hence the ridiculously small batch, or I just had an old sample. Anyway, shouldn’t happen for this price imho.

On the other hand, the scent disappeared very fast, which is good and bad, again.

Over all, I did not like it that much and won’t buy it again. Other Natty products however are really, really nice, I think.
