LEGO-Sheriff Triibeard made it over the Rocky Mountains last night, but not without incident. Apparently he was able to put the autopilot to work and get some sleep, but the autopilot over-compensated for the elevation of the mountains and took the vehicle thousands of feet higher than it was designed for. I received the following warning on the GCX:

I was able to speak with the Sheriff today. He said he was jolted awake by an altitude alarm at nearly 15,000 feet above sea level, and it was bitterly cold outside. A layer of frost had started forming on the ship, so he put it into a steep descent to lower and warmer altitudes. He now reports that the ship is sound, and there do not appear to be any consequences or damages at this time. He is on course and making good progress to the east.

However, it is puzzling to consider what may have caused the autopilot to go much higher than needed to clear the mountains and exceed the vehicle's design specifications. Fortunately, there are no other mountain ranges that high on the rest of the journey to the sea.

All this effort just to investigate the source of the mysterious chest buried at Rancho Triibeard and the theft of some beard products in Germany?? Is it worth it?
