I like to give something back to the community, so after three months of use, I’m reviewing the Mr. Natty Face Forest Soap Beard Shampoo.

Before using the FFS, I simply used a shampoo based on hemp oil and the shampoo of my wife. I wash my face daily and the hair on it with the run off. Sometimes more vigorous, sometimes less, but the beard gets a rinse everytime.

However, one or two days a week, I want to shampoo my face forest (or shrub) exclusively - after biking for instance. Personally, I wouldn’t use this soap more often than that.

Why did I chose Mr. Natty? Well, the hemp shampoo was discontinued and I wanted to try a soap especially for facial hair. A soap seemed to give me more product for the money than a shampoo, I assumed. Mr. Natty (born Matt Raine) is a London barber who wants to bring you grooming products with a „bing bong“.
That marketing seems to appeal to me
That „bing bong“ is a bit on the pricy side though - about 20 Euros or 25 USD, but I’ve ordered other soaps to compare lately and I’ve learned, that there are more in the same price category as well.

What do you get for it? 100 ml of solid soap with bits of herbs in it and surprisingly few other ingredients in a nice tin. The ingredients are claimed to be natural and there is a very prominent scent of rosemary, which I like very much. I couldn’t smell out the english mint that should be in there too. The label is worn off by use, so I can’t make out what’s all in it anymore, lol. Considering the container, I’m a bit lost here, sure it’s nice, fairly sturdy and convenient to store away, but don’t let the soap dry in it, because it remains almost glued to the bottom and is very hard to get out again. So I’ve taken the picture show you the way, how I store it for drying, after usage - not so much „bing bong“ in my book. After the block is dry to the touch, you can put the lid back on, sure not having to wrestle („bing bong“?) it out in the shower to use it again.

The picture also shows the soap and container after three months of use, so probably it’ll last me longer than a year, although I’m using it even sometimes to wash my face exclusively and not so much the beard during the week.

The use is apparently easy, you don’t need an instruction to use soap, do you? The smell is very spicy and the foam very lush, even if you only have to use very little, and the cleaning qualities seem to be spot on („bing bong“!).

The result is a very soft, clean and - in my case - fluffy beard. Especially if I use the Mr. Natty beard oil which I’ll review later afterwards. So I wouldn’t use it more that two times a day on the beard and using oil as a next step is probably more than justified.

So overall, I like the soap very much and would like to use it more often. Anyway, I think there still might be something better out there, that’s why I keep investigating. You can’t, however, do much wrong with the FFS.
