Believe it or not, beards are both celebrated and shunned by my parts. The views have either become more neutral or positive (for an example of positive, the marketing campaigns for Macy's have featured bearded men for years.) There are still people who either feel a need to enforce their personal opinions on others, or still feel ignorantly bigoted, and the only way to express themselves is as such. Btw, as Luke and Justin mentioned, personal care can say a lot. I have to report to the store manager of a mult-million dollar establishment. I also have a long beard. She has yet to have said anything on my facial hair, but rather glowing remarks on my work.
