Sorry not to respond sooner. I had a very busy week getting blood tests, having a meeting with the home nurse, and being tested to make sure I'm clear of peritonitis - (went well, btw).

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

@ Ostro, Geoff, and Paul - The trip went really well. My only major concern was taking all of my dialysis supplies which included about 25 cases of fluid (10-12 litres per case) and then working my dialysis schedule into the trip itinerary. I spend about 9 hours on the cycler (which drains and fills me during the night) and usually do at least one additional exchange (putting in fresh fluid) during the day.
@ Zed - While we were there, they were updating the Matterhorn so it was closed. The attraction is undergoing not only a major update but a re-imagineering of the entire experience. They have also used new technology to update the Alice in Wonderland ride and are currently doing the same for Peter Pan. Just more reasons to go back.
@ Tom - Fortunately, I'm doing quite well on peritoneal dialysis; the infection was more of a fluke thing and actually cleared up quickly with antibiotics. Btw, I did consider the possibility of meeting you and other Beard Board members on the trip. We actually were close to your neck of the woods; we stayed in Eugene, Oregon on both the way down and back. Unfortunately, we drove long hours and really had little time to do anything else other than eat and sleep before getting back on the road again.
@ Imaginary - Thank you. My mom, 2 sisters, brother and brother-in-law, took most of the pictures.
@ Admiral Red Beard - Thank you for the compliment. As I mentioned, I did consider meeting up with board members but our schedule was really tight. After the trip down, we were in Los Angeles for 7 days (8 nights) and had every day scheduled with events/attractions.

On a side note, if anyone is considering driving down to Los Angeles, GPS works fantastic for navigating the freeway system.
