by the way...does anyone ever notice some beard hairs are ribbon shaped rather than round?

This is something I have noticed and I asked my wife to look at one that fell out when I was combing and her exact words were "what the hell is wrong with your face?!" I am not sure if this is common, it definitely isn't the majority of my hairs, but it isn't an insignificant amount either. I am curious if it is diet/health related or just how some of the hairs grow.
From what I've felt, my beard and mustache hairs (from how they don't roll smoothly between the thumb and index finger of one hand) are all much more ribbon-shaped than my scalp hairs are. I have been assuming that that is normal.
FWIW, my loose beard hairs roll smoothly between my fingers this way. Consequently, you can see how straight my beard is. Generally, the flatter that beard hairs are, the curlier the beard tends to be.
