Thank you, Mr. Sftd. I usually do keep the top looking short. This was the picture right after I'd showered after the haircut (the loose hairs were making me itch like mad!), so the top looks longer and taller than I normally wear it. I agree, though, that the beard looks bigger in perspective with a short haircut.

Yes, this could be called the formal "Buttoned-Down Beard" look. It is about as straight as one might be. I'm not even getting waves anymore. Maybe those will appear by October when it has gained another 2.5 more inches.

If you look back at the pictures from January 2014, they show my beard as long as it has ever been (the "Triiyeard"). However, I had been trimming my neck in mid 2013, so the neckbeard had not caught up as much. This time around the neckbeard is fully as long as the rest, and already my beard "feels" bigger and wider than ever. I'm also not trimming the sideburns this time, and that helps with the width.
