Luke, I am excited to hear about your results because I think I am going to try to make a wax soon. My balm recipe is definitely on the softer side for conditioning rather than hold. Now, if you were intentionally trying to make a wax would you increase the amount of beeswax in your recipe or add a bit more?

Cheers,
Troy

I think the recipe I used is already a rather strong wax. I would start with the ratio and see what you think. Just make a small batch and see what you think. Just remember, this was my very first time trying to create a beard balm and I ended up creating a mustache wax that smells like grass...so I may not be the best to take advice from lol.

In 1567, Hans Steininger, the burgomaster of Braunau (then Bavaria, now Austria), died when he broke his neck by tripping over his own beard. The beard, which was 4.5 feet (1.4 m) long at the time, was usually kept rolled up in a leather pouch. --source (Beard Responsibly, my friends)
