Hi Luke,
First, that great beard of yours is just awesome man! Totally so. When I first your post yesterday I did not know what to think, say or how to react. I had both a reaction of surprise admiration. I myself the past few weeks have found my stache, which I have not trimmed (but only a very minor shaping in January) since September, 8 months ago, to feel rather oppressive. I have been tempted to trim many times, but actually have been afraid to do so. There is a TV commercial with a man with a rather impressive 4 or 5 inch beard which I have admired. There was something "different" about his fine beard that Inliked but couldn't put my "finger" on what it is I particuarily noticed that was different, that I liked. Then I saw your post yesterday, and have been , all evening and this morning thinking about finally trimming down my stache. (As you know it has been in ingrained that we must let the stache grow to balance our bigger, longer beards). I have been temped to visit a barber this afternoon (here in the City), as My sissors and trimmers are at home. I'm still not sure what to do, as I am growing the beard out longer and don't want to loose symmetry and balance. Then I think about the feeling of being more comfortable with my wife, (it really does get in the way, and does take away a lot), and of course eating. So last night ate an icecream cone and thought about if I really wanted to live like this for the rest if mylife. (It was an awful mess as I'm sure you know). (And yes btw, the guy with the great bearded look had a trimmed stache)!
So hats off to you for taking the plunge to make your stache much more livable! Congrats on your decision Luke!
"Devo" I don't think so.... I'm off to the barber now...
Best,
Marty
